Another golf trick?

After playing golf for many years, I realized that this is not a magic wand. You need to get the right gear and actually practice with it to get good results, this thing is no exception. I saw a guy use one on a course and he was just awful with it. I tried it and thought it was a solid stick, but it wasn't good for anything other than bump and run chips. It had a 45 degree version, you could use a hybrid stick and get the same results and save money. Then I saw they had a 55 degree version which I thought had more potential with a higher loft. Ordered from Revain, received in two days. First thought was that thing is ugly. The green plastic insert on the back looks cheap and the grip is the same light green color, very flimsy and cheap. I removed the grip very easily, it was easy to cut, there was no tape or glue on the shaft. I put double sided tape on the shaft, poured some solvent in the grip and it snapped into place. I took a can of flat silver paint and after a quick job of masking tape to protect my head, I covered this green plastic insert in paint. New grip, fresh paint, all the lemon green gone and it looks like a nice racket. I will practice. Made a few chips in three different positions of the ball: ball off back foot, middle stance, and ball forward to front foot. It was possible to perform 3 different shots simply by changing the position of the ball. The high loft helped too. The ball goes back to the post, a long rolling shot, the center of the post is slightly higher and slightly twisted, the ball is slightly forward which made a good ball check. With a little more effort, this racquet could have fit in a bag. It appears to be a quality staff, it just doesn't hold up to the light green handle and insert which makes it look cheap. If you suck at chipping and just want to get it somewhere on the green, 45 degrees is fine. If you have some skills and can work on it, a 55 degree crusher is much more versatile and can be a useful addition. The chopper is a bit overrated in my opinion. Wait a while and the price may drop or get cheaper than a used racquet on a used racquet site.
