This item was purchased for permanent use under furniture that will sit on a hardwood floor (double bed and 8ft wooden closet. Both are very heavy). The bottom side material is strong and wear-resistant with foam, the furniture side material is thick and durable. I use them as permanent "stands" for heavier furniture in my master bedroom. Furniture that is used every day and has problems. The permanent installation makes it easier to move the furniture for cleaning and also protects the wooden floor from heavy objects in the long term. If there is a problem, they are a bit pricey compared to other similar items, but their quality more than makes the cost worth it.
