Review on 🚦 High-performance CURT 56146 Powered Trailer Tail Light Converter, 3-to-2-Wire Splice-in with 4-Pin Wiring Harness by Wesley Bell

Installation requires a line with a battery fuse. Check your car before you miss it.

I have a 2009 Cadillac SRX. For this application, you must supply battery power to the module through a 10A fused wire. To do this, you can purchase a separate child from Kurt. It is mentioned in the description of this product at the end of the description as if it were a note. This product should not be compatible with my vehicle and other vehicles that require power unless it becomes more obvious that you need a wire and fuse. Or just include a wire or fuse in this kit. I ordered this module and only realized when I installed it that I needed a fusible link. I was able to go to the store and buy the wire and built in fuse holder and fuse. It's not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning to hopefully spare someone else the inconvenience I experienced. The converter itself is good. The wires are marked on the block and it is clear where each should be connected to the vehicle. The 3 stars are not meant to include a melt line, or at least not be more sincere about needing one.

Pros
  • Great range
Cons
  • Expensive
