Description of 🚦 High-performance CURT 56146 Powered Trailer Tail Light Converter, 3-to-2-Wire Splice-in with 4-Pin Wiring Harness

RELIABLE POWER. This powered 3-to-2-wire taillight converter provides a dependable splice-in trailer wiring harness option, if a CURT custom trailer wiring harness is not available for your vehicle. STANDARD OUTPUT. This tail light converter converts the 3-wire vehicle electrical system to standard 2-wire trailer wiring and provides a standard 4-way flat socket to connect the taillights, brake lights and turn signals for towing. COLOR-CODED WIRES. To make installation faster and easier, this trailer wiring converter splices into your vehicle using color-coded wires (3.0 amps signal circuit, 6.0 amps taillight circuit). READY TO INSTALL. This trailer light converter comes ready to install on your vehicle. It includes snap locks for secure connection of the wires, and it requires no heavy-duty flashers (CURT converter wiring kit #55151 required, sold separately). WEATHER-RESISTANT. To help protect this trailer light converter from the elements, it comes with a rubber dust cover for the 4-pin wiring connector, shielding it from rain, dirt, dust and more when not in use.

Suitable for 2013 Subaru WRX. Dont b skeered

Works fine on my 2013 Subaru Wrx sunroof. For those interested, the wiring goes as follows. Subaru. 56146 PurposeWhite/red. Yellow. Turn left brown. Red brake black/white. Brown Tail/Run Gray Green Turn Right + 12V Battery. Black PowerInstall module with 3m of double-sided tape in left rear signal cavity (assembly is removed with two Phillips screws with sunroof open). Set the curt block as low as possible as the green wire needs to go all the way to the right tail light cavity and is short…

If you don't connect the power supply first, your device could burn out.

Well I had a hell of a time installing this, mainly because I was installing it in a 2003 Infinity FX35 I had to run a separate wire from the 'center' brake light so it had a brake light signal , since both indicators flash at the same signal. I believe the reason for the error is that I soldered all the connections but I haven't connected power and ground yet and I had to run to the store when I noticed the turn signal was on and I turned on the brakes, the turn signal would work very quickly…

I have a 2009 Cadillac SRX. For this application, you must supply battery power to the module through a 10A fused wire. To do this, you can purchase a separate child from Kurt. It is mentioned in the description of this product at the end of the description as if it were a note. This product should not be compatible with my vehicle and other vehicles that require power unless it becomes more obvious that you need a wire and fuse. Or just include a wire or fuse in this kit. I ordered this module

This was my solution for a 2006 Honda Element. 2005-6 didn't come with a trailer setup. I routed a wire from the battery and attached it to the left signal, brake, parking and ground behind the rear cab, driver's side, body panel. The correct signal should come from the right side of the car, but that was all done before the Curt converter was installed. Adding Curt to the prepared wiring was pretty easy. The trailer is new to me but used. I checked the connections on the bumper connector on…

Kurt must try your product

Everything worked (emergency gear, rear lights, brake lights) EXCEPT for the indicators Only work when the brake lights are switched on! Arrrgg! I am building a turn signal system for a John Deere Gator 590i as part of the headlight wiring for the trailer that will be towing the Gator. The standard Gator lacks turn signals, so I bought a John Deere wiring harness that provides the turn signal and kill switch functions, then added front and rear LED lights. The turn signal supplied by John Deere

Another “easy” to install car device

If you are familiar with disassembling the back of the car, have the right tools (some electrical testers are very important), prepare to search for a video and look at it. Be willing to risk your car's electrical system for this one, then you too can spend hours of "fun" installing it. Be sure to watch the installation video, especially if you've never done it before. Make sure you have some kind of electrical test equipment (like the ones used in the video). Wire connections can be iffy, we…

truck installation? You may need to purchase additional cables.

Bought both this and the 'correct' cable kit (sold separately). It gets the job done and the overall quality seems very good. The converter box is slightly larger than a deck of cards and can therefore be easily installed in the recess behind the left rear light. However, the double sided sticky pad used to attach it is a bit flimsy, I wouldn't trust it alone. The pad seemed to stick well to the metal of the truck, but the transducer fell/detached from the pad too easily, so I used acrylic tape
