Always wanted to straighten my hair without chemicals after a short haircut. This device gets close enough to your hair without burning you as badly as a hot gold metal comb. Has protection against burns. Negative ions make hair shiny. You still have to be careful. This device can become very hot in extreme temperatures. You can still burn yourself with any hot comb/brush. It doesn't matter if they have fire protection. You have to use them correctly in order not to hurt yourself. Do not leave this device on any area of the head for more than 3 seconds at high temperature when styling roots or short hair. I wish I had purchased this item before purchasing the gold metal combs. I hope it works for a long time.
