Perfect fit for 2009 Scion TC

Looked exactly like the factory part it replaced and worked great. I couldn't find a video of anyone installing this on a Scion TC. One of them worth checking out is where they replace the locking mechanism with a Toyota Camary. It's exactly the same (the inside door handle is different), but very close. The two things you'll want to do to make this easier is remove the outside key lock and remove the bolt holding the window rail in place. These two things will make the job a lot easier and save you a lot of time and headaches. You also don't need to remove the inside door handle or unhook the metal bar of the door handle at the top. After removing the window guide bolt, simply lower the latch mechanism and it will slide out of the hole at the bottom. Loosening from above is a big problem and difficult to reinstall. As for the inner handle where the cables connect to the locking mechanism, just disassemble the mechanism and transfer the cables to the new mechanism, then reinstall. If you want to remove the doorknob, you need to push the stopper out of the hole on the left, then slide the entire handle to the left and it will come out. Oh yes make sure you have a T30 torx as you will need it to remove the 3 screws holding the latch mechanism in place and to loosen the outer door lock assembly. It took me about an hour and a half to complete this job, of which I spent about 30 minutes watching videos to figure out the best way to remove and replace the lock. The tips above would help a lot, so if you have TC hopefully save you some time.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Dull packaging
