NOT A MATTE FINISH AS SHOWN / BEST FOR THE PRICE

I ordered a Schwinn Yahara Black. First, it's not matte black like the picture. Ideal for non-aggressive mountain biking, scootering, or in-line skating, the Schwinn Yahara ERT Helmet is designed to fit a 21.25" - 22.75", 54" head circumference. 58cm Integrated polycarbonate micro shell provides lightweight durability; The 14 vents provide cross ventilation when used in warm climates, but in colder climates the head can get very cold Schwinn should consider developing a nylon protective sleeve (shell) that attaches to the outside of the helmet with Velcro to seal out wind and to block rain in harsher climates.Yahara uses Energy Reducing Technology (ERT) - waffle-shaped pads that flex in multiple directions to absorb different types of impacts.Removable inner liners wick moisture and are washable. The problem I see , refers to certificates. It has a CYA CPSC 070SB rating. What does CYA CPSC 070SB mean? CPSC is the Consumer Safety Products Commission. They hab en specific standards for different types of helmets for different activities. Some of these are: Bicycling, scootering, in-line skating and in-line skating - recreational cycling must have one or more of these ASTM F1447, F18981 classifications; Snell B-90A, B-95, H-942; CPSC Personal Vehicle Riding, ASTM 2416 Personal Electrical Assistive Devices (or one of CPSC and ASTM F1492 certified devices) Moped, Motorized Bicycle4 and Scooter4 Snell L-98, M-2005, M-2010, CMS/CMR 20073; DOT FMVSS 218 My biggest question. How much impact can this helmet withstand? It says it's made with a durable, integrated polycarbonate outer shell and high-density EPS liner. Well, I think it's better than nothing on the head, but it doesn't have the technologies that leading manufacturers have, like MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System). And again, how much effort does it take to keep your brain from getting confused? It has a micro-adjustable dial retention system to ensure a secure fit; Side and chin straps allow the wearer to fine-tune the fit. It has a pivoting visor with extended coverage to provide excellent sun, wind and rain protection. Aside from the lack of real safety standards, I think this is a good overall helmet. The trim is a nice black color and doesn't scratch as easily as a foam helmet. I liked the fit but I'm sure your head might get cold or wet if you use it in inclement weather. If she had a real safety rating I would rate her higher. In my world, CYA means COVERING YOUR ASSETS!
