When you have the right plumbing - a filter behind the ball valve of your home's water supply - installation is so easy even a caveman can handle it. It is best NOT to drain the existing water from the filter reservoir (unless the reservoir needs cleaning) as the filter will need to be refilled. Remember to turn on a faucet in the house BEFORE opening the filter. Use the tool provided to unscrew the filter housing OR put on a good pair of leather gloves to unscrew it. Remember to PULL the filter housing HAND-TIGHT after changing the water filter! Remove/check for cracks/then clean (with a rag) the o-ring on top of the filter housing. Replace if cracked, otherwise lubricate with a small amount of silicone grease (NOT sealant) before replacing the housing. Turn on the water valve throughout the house, close the open indoor faucet, then check the Ehole bag filter for leaks (put a paper towel underneath to see the leak. If it's leaking, use gloves to tighten it a bit .If there are no more leaks to be noticed, that's all ready.
