Fire Hazard and Warranty Nightmare

Purchased October 2018. Worked for three months as needed. We are preparing the camper for the trip in April. Turned on the fan to check. There was smoke and the smoke alarm went off. The fan is still running, but disabling the automatic temperature requires restarting the fan performance. Now I have a fire hazard on my roof, but AirXCel isn't worried about that; They want me to start troubleshooting the components. -------------- Now we are engaged in after-sales service; Somebody kill me now! They're not just going to swap out the damn thing so I can climb up onto the roof and finish swapping; they let me fix bugs for them bit by bit. Make sure you try to use their content from the web. If you click Submit and an error occurs, your input into the form will not be cached and you will have to retype it. And their voicemail system; designed to make you quit. There is only one warranty support option and that is only if you already have a warranty claim and it goes to the phone of a woman who is never in the office. Update: May 5, 2019 ---------- --------------Support has agreed to replace parts. As you can see from the photo, you have to remove just as many parts to get the motor and circuit board out of the fan. There are parts of the case that also need to be removed, they are not shown. You will also need to disconnect the power wires and disconnect one wire from the sensor to the board and the other to the board itself. So you need to allow at least a couple of hours for the fan repair and a couple of days between waiting for the parts to arrive. Yes, they honored the warranty and provided replacement parts. But they could send the main body that has all of those parts installed and only requires removing and replacing four screws and disconnecting/reconnecting the power line. This is expected to take around 15 minutes. How a company thinks that this is quality customer service I don't understand. I still have an older MaxxFan in the back of the bus that needs to be replaced. I think I'll try another provider. Maybe FanTastic Fan or something like that. I no longer support AirExcel financially.
