Update: The product works as a USB 3 device However, there are some strange compatibility issues. The device appears to show up separately as a USB 2 and 3 device in USBView, and the device I used to test was able to achieve over 90MB/s when connected to a pluggable USB 3 hub through this device was, but it did not agree. Also, when it works, other devices on the hub will start to work intermittently. For example, the BT dongle cannot search for or pair with devices. After all, it's a lot more compatible than the active non-powered USB2 cables I've tried before. So as long as you're not obsessed with getting USB3 to work, it's a pretty good product, but it kind of defeats the purpose of using the USB3 extension. work perfectly. The device will show up as a regular self-powered USB 2.0 hub and no downstream devices will work in USB 3.0 mode. Tried troubleshooting and reinstalling USB drivers and tested on multiple computers and confirmed results. If I come back for a replacement I will update the review as soon as I get a replacement.
