My daughters needed them for a dance performance. Both are 5ft 1" tall but the younger is skinny at 110lbs and the older is curvy at 128lbs. As I don't know exactly Knowing what size would fit I ordered one each - extra small, small and medium. The small and medium came as described and fit both daughters as needed. Inseam not quite 2" on either; they will go with a larger size no longer have inseam but the very small size was a completely different style - high waist shorts, legging style compression shorts with phone pockets on each side and a 5" inseam. Luckily, small to medium works for what I use them for actually bought them. I can understand the concern that for some they might be a little "cheeky" but for my girls they are not too pushy. They are like vo required by the dance instructor and are worn over tights and a leotard and under another layer of the costume. oh as it suits my youngest daughter who asked me for more dress options for her school dance class. Everything at a super bargain price!
