Yes and no – note the limitations of this device!

Been using it for about 2 weeks so take it with care. Pros: - Relatively small compared to other RAID setups - Easy to manage (with G-RAID software controller and Disk Utility) - Customer support via G-Tech is prompt and helpful when needed - Very fast - Build quality is very good - Stay cool - daisy chain! Cons: - Very noisy. It's always buzzing and clicking. It was pretty tough at first, but I'm getting used to it. Sometimes the noises are a bit annoying and quite disturbing. If you have a quiet work environment, this might bother you (and probably your closest co-workers) a bit. The cable that came with it is 20 Gbps, not 40 Gbps. (You need a cable no longer than 0.5m and a real TB3 cable to get 40Gbps). The USB-C port is only for connecting to a computer as an alternative to Thunderbolt 3. , you cannot use it as a hub for other USB-C devices. It's a bit annoying, but more like "I want" than hitting him. You can only connect this device to one computer/workstation at a time (via the TB3 ports on the rear panel). - If you try to connect a USB-C device or TB3 device other than a computer to the TB3 ports on the back of the G-RAID, you will hear a high-pitched squeak. It was very noticeable to me and didn't sound right. I don't know if the problem is powering the USB-C/TB3 device from the TB3 port or not. This thing really stinks. Unless the TB3 port on the G-RAID goes to something that is actively consuming a lot of power (e.g. a computer), the squeaking occurs the moment it is connected and continues until it is disconnected . I have an external SSD that is causing this problem every time I try to plug it into the second TB3 connector (the other plugs directly into my computer).

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Short instructions
