I have used a light box/tracing pad for years in my stained glass hobby. I absolutely LOVE the size of this light pad. I had been using a light box about the same width and length, but it was around 7" in height, used 4 pricey fluorescent bulbs, and was heavy. As light and thin as this is, it makes tracing and cutting stained glass easier than it was with the behemoth I was used to. That being said, it is much dimmer than I had hoped, despite the product information's assurance that it is has "sufficient backlight even when it is covered by several layers of paper." I use a good quality sketch paper and with just two pages you start to lose a good, sharp image. The listing does say that it is for diamond painting; maybe as light pads for diamond painting go, this is bright.I don't know. I do know that for $99 I would hope for more light than this puts out, but the trade-off is the large size and low height which I love. It'll do the job, just not as well as I expected for the price.
