Edit 1/29/16 Second cap just gone. Both machines were very little used, both exactly 12 months after ordering, and both ran crossed between cylinders #2 and #4. I wouldn't use anything other than AC Delco or Delphi for tops on these cars. Edit 12/10/15. Multiple misfires in less than a year, maybe the family drove 3,000 miles in a Suburban. They used to brag about their brass connectors too. This is a common problem with caps of this style. It follows that the original base was plastic so the new caps come with real screws. This base is aluminum and therefore uses bolt threads. Do not loosen the included "screws" or you will have to go to the hardware store. I originally gave it 5 stars, even bought a 2nd after a month or so. For the price I would probably have bought it without the lid and would have been satisfied. Not so much now. I am generous with 3.------------------------------ ------------- --------- -------- Here's how to inexpensively do sync, aka Cam Retard Offset, without an expensive scanner can reset. Inserted from my Vgate review: - Buy this adapter or a similar one - Install the free Elm Basic terminal app (not Elm 327, it blows) - Plug the adapter into the OBD socket, standard Bluetooth sync with phone, password 1234 - start the car and let it warm up to normal operating temperature - open an Elm Basic terminal, connect it to the adapter, then type the following and press "Submit" after each line: ATZATSP2ATSH6C10F122130101 - The final answer should be "62 13 01 AA BB". You need AA and BB and both are hexadecimal. The ideal value is zero, but due to the backlash in the valve train and the accuracy of the sensor, this will not happen. If the value of AA is between 00 and 7F, the assignment is rotated too far counterclockwise for the computer to want. If it's FF at 80 then it's too far clockwise - After each manifold adjustment, increase engine RPM and hold for a second. Most say at least 1,000 rpm, but some say that 99 needs 2,000 rpm. - Resend command 22130101 to update. If the value is exactly the same, then you didn't spin high enough/long enough. If AA is 00 or FF you need to get BB as close to zero as possible. I haven't fully tested this yet, but I think the formula will be very close to (((A*256)+B)-32767)/100*2.4. And it's all posted because I've spent many hours trying to figure it out, there are many posts with questions about this all over the place. Google does it.
