These are awesome handrails. Be sure to install them with the ingenious Moen Securemount system, which allows you to install the poles without tearing the tile or other surface and attaching them to the studs. AMAZING design. These handrails are "finished" meaning they have a textured finish rather than flat and smooth. It really changes your ability to grip more securely, especially when your hands are wet (which you'd expect in a shower or bath). High quality, well designed and definitely worth the money to add security and reliability. for everyone, but especially for the elderly or those with health problems that limit balance or mobility. THREE YEAR UPDATE! Now that these wonderful railings have been around for three years, I thought it would be helpful if people knew how well they work. In a word: AMAZING! They look just as good as the day they were installed. They stay strong thanks to Moen's original Securemount mounting system. Make sure you buy Securemounts with every handrail you buy. You are worth gold. They allowed our installer (who has never used this system) to install them without any problems after watching a short tutorial video online. The installation was flawless, the existing tile was not damaged and the installer installed it very quickly and easily. Couldn't be happier.
