Update! Leakage protection broke on the third day of use! Love the fact that it seemed like the kettle I really wanted was out of stock for many weeks. I was a little disappointed to find that with constant use it wouldn't last much longer than a year because it's so light and that alone made me wish I'd gone with a different brand. That being said, it will last about a year if you are very careful and wait for it to heat up, which happens pretty quickly. The kettle I wanted will last about 10 years with a good user. So if you love buying the same things over and over again, this kettle is for you.
