Did exactly what I was hoping for.

Finding a solution to this problem has been long and difficult. It was a component to HDMI converter. I was trying to connect a Cisco cable box to a Sharp Aquos 70" TouchWall (touchscreen monitor). First the cable company ran the cable across the room. I tried an HDMI wireless extender and couldn't get a picture got a week i was working back and forth between hdmi extender mfgr and cable to solve the problem the main point of the information was that the cable box should recognize the connected hdmi device as a tv or it would not transmit it what was interesting was that the die Cable box would transmit to a PC monitor plugged directly into it. Make a TV-like extension cable. It didn't work. I then tried an HDMI extender using satellite provider equipment and it worked fine. Cable long enough (30 foot) to test a direct connection but they re-stretched the cable to the opponent The wall the TouchWall is on but it still doesn't work See Auc h here everyone agreed that the TouchWall monitor is not like a cable TV. (Credit to DMCA.) We have replaced the cable boxes with the previous Scientific Atlanta model. It didn't work with HDMI either. The good news was that the Scientific Atlanta had component output jacks. Knowing that HDMI is a two-way digital connection and that component is a one-way analog connection, I was hoping that the SA box wouldn't be able to tell what it was connected to. Luckily I was right as the only alternative was to switch content providers or buy a new monitor/TV. On closer inspection, the picture quality is slightly worse than with a direct HDMI connection. You might not have noticed if you hadn't looked. I have read product reviews on a number of products. It looks great from the side of the room. Now I'm wondering if it will be with the wireless HDMI extender that I've already returned. I have a feeling it would be.

Pros
  • Persistent Test Results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model
