I just ran these two antennas with an SWR meter on my Yaesu dual band walkie talkies. Since two such antennas from a well-known manufacturer would cost me $45, I didn't have high hopes. Boy was I wrong. Older antennas that came with radios indicated an SWR of f/5.5. (For non-ham radio enthusiasts reading this, this is a bad reaction, and as with the Golf, a MINIMUM result means a better result.) I replaced the factory 8" 144/440 antennas with these new antennas and got and has an instant SWR drop to 1:2.3! I then added a homemade tiger tail wire to the setup and the SWR dropped to 1:1.5. They delivered relatively good numbers on both the 2 m (144/148 MHz) and 70 cm (440/447 MHz) HAM bands. I am very, very happy.
