After much online research and customer feedback from various sources, including consumer reports [.] on the best home theater systems and speakers, Onkyo was voted the best receiver and Harmon Kardon - the best speakers in relation on price, quality and equipment. Believe me, HK is better rated than Bose. That's three times the price! This was my first purchase of an A/V receiver (Onkyo TX-SR606) and HTIB system paired with HK speakers, also purchased from Revain. Easy installation guide. I have a 46 inch Samsung 1080p HDTV LCD that was connected to an HDMI input on the receiver. The cable box and the Sony PS (can be used as a Blue Ray player) were connected to the receiver with HDMI cables. I also connected an optical cable to the TV to play sound if needed. HK speakers come with enough wires, but I bought 14 gauge wire from Flatwire [.] and tucked the wires myself. Flatire speaker cables are a bit pricey (you can buy 12, 14, 18) and are paper thick and can be surface mounted and hidden without having to cut through walls. The sound of the HK speaker is amazing. Watch out, the subwoofer must be in control, suckers blow up your room Joking. My room is medium sized so I'm keeping the SW at a quarter of its full potential! The speakers and SW look very elegant and aesthetically pleasing. The only problem I found was that the HK speaker mounts weren't very easy to use. To install. But that's not the main problem. Overall, Harmon-Kardon has maintained its reputation for quality and Blue comes highly recommended.
