Breathe new life into old computers

Great "kicker" for an old computer! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that such a product even existed. I have these Bought the 64GB version because I no longer needed it and it had a higher ratio of high to low ratings.I installed it on a 12 year old Pentium M laptop that originally came with Windows XP.Physically correct All mounting holes on the drive lined up with those on the laptop's drive carrier, but unlike a regular hard drive, the holes on the drive were unthreaded, so each turn of the screwdriver drove a screw into the plastic casing of the drive for the first time. Please note that I used the original screws from the laptop. I forgot the ones included in the SSD. Maybe they would work better. Well, yes . At least he came and stayed where he was. I installed Windows 8.1 on this old computer without any difficulties or problems. The drive worked flawlessly from the start. My laptop was an ATA/100 IDE spec, so I wanted to see how fast the drive was. Using Crystal Disk Mark and HD Tune (old version), the transfer speed reached 60 MB/s reading and about 30 MB/s writing. The average access time is around 0.5ms, MUCH faster than any hard drive, but still much slower than the 0.1ms for any Crucial SATA SSD I've measured. However, it looks like the drive interface is ATA/66. But why not higher? Why not up to ATA/133? RESULT - A useful but expensive product that breathes new life and satisfaction into old machines.
