My husband and I noticed deep marks from furniture in the living room on the carpet. In a rented townhouse, we try to minimize the marks we leave on the floor, so we looked for moveable pads to protect our carpet. After reading other reviews we decided to give it a try. So far they have done a great job of protecting our carpet from sofa marks and odd shaped chair legs and it has made moving furniture a lot easier as these items make it easier to move furniture across the carpet. I have two small problems with this product. First, the furniture can sometimes slide a little more easily than we'd like (leaning against the chair, it slides a bit due to the moving pads underneath). Secondly, there are still light marks on the carpet caused by the pressure of the furniture on the runners. Not sure how this could have been avoided, but just a warning that while this keeps the prints in a consistent shape (rounder and more gradual/softer), there may still be traces of heavy furniture on the carpet.
