This is an amazing radio at a great price. It can monitor 3 security channels and weather channel at the same time. You can also program channels and set them up for scanning. It comes with a 12 volt cigarette lighter style charger. You can also plug a 12 volt converter into a regular outlet if you want to charge at home. I plan on charging it in my truck on the way to the lake, but a full charge takes about 3.5 hours according to the owner's manual. .Seems very durable and I was able to turn it on and listen to the weather channel from my kitchen table.
