The good old Walkman, simply the best. I had 2 of these that day and they lasted forever. I only got the 2nd as a backup because I took it with me on my daily runs and expected it to eventually wear out. It never happened! Dropped it a few times, still works. I have kept it in good condition. I have cleaned the heads and have never run a defective tape in them. Eventually she gave both of them to the mission when the Walkman CD player showed up. I recently found some old cassettes that I forgot. Most of them were never released on CD or MP3. That's why I bought this one. Works great like new. No "tape hiss" or other disturbances, crystal clear sound. It was money well spent. I still have my Walkman CD player for audiobooks that haven't been digitized, as well as my very first Walkman MP3 player in years, and they both still work great. Mp3 sounds better than iPod, IMHO. Nobody sounded better then or now than Sony. If you lack the reliability and quality of old-school products, you can't go wrong with Sony. And now, thanks to Google, I'm finding some rare audiobooks and music on cassettes. Very cool! Thank you Revan
