I wanted to upgrade my Mac Pro 5.1 to USB-C and USB 3.1 to use the same accessories as my 2019 MacBook Pro. Some adapters have the right connectors but don't offer speed. This one does -- 10 Mb/s. With two separate channels, it can transmit full speed to multiple ports at the same time. The chipset is supported by MacOS and is therefore plug-and-play capable. It features USB-C and USB 3.1 A ports for true flexibility. The board features a SATA power connector in case your USB peripherals require more power than the board can provide. The board costs more than the alternatives, but offers significantly more.
