Works as specified

Works great, transfer rate is fast. If you have a slow transfer rate, check the cable you're using and make sure it's rated for 10 Mbps data transfer or higher.

Pros
  • High Power Ports: Supports up to 2A/5V (10W) of power on each USB-A port and up to 3A/5V (15W) on each USB-C port. The USB stick contains an additional SATA power connector for connecting to your system's power supply.
Cons

Great card, albeit expensive!

So the card works great and offers the most USB-C and USB-A ports for a card of this type. But the price is more than I should be able to get 2 separate cards with the same or more ports. If you're short on space in your suitcase, this will work just fine. I just wish the price was lower. It is very convenient to connect.

Pros
  • No driver installation required on macOS 10.8-10.10, 10.12 and later (NOTE: The driver built in macOS 10.11 does not support ASMedia USB 3.1); Win10/8, Server 2012 and later; Linux 2.6.31 and later.

Delivers the promised speed, quality workmanship

I wanted to upgrade my Mac Pro 5.1 to USB-C and USB 3.1 to use the same accessories as my 2019 MacBook Pro. Some adapters have the right connectors but don't offer speed. This one does -- 10 Mb/s. With two separate channels, it can transmit full speed to multiple ports at the same time. The chipset is supported by MacOS and is therefore plug-and-play capable. It features USB-C and USB 3.1 A ports for true flexibility. The board features a SATA power connector in case your USB peripherals…
