First of all I would like to say that this page has two sides. Each of them is better suited to different surfaces. Second, my line is very wavy and not flat anywhere. It also has two finishes. Predominantly textured with a smooth surface over the cantilever block. The overlay has a checkered finish, as in the first image, but on the back, the finish is smooth. I found that for me a smooth surface worked best on a part of the dashboard that was also smooth. It's really amazing. Better than a lot of glue and almost everyone who saw it thought I glued it. I was starting to worry that it might leave marks because it is holding so well, but I have checked it from time to time and so far (2-3 months) it has come off fine with no marks. But the checkered finish worked best on the textured part of the dashboard. The checkered finish didn't stick well to my phone while in a case. I suspect it would work better if it attached directly to my phone, but I didn't get that far because I already had a phone mount and didn't want to remove the case. I used the smooth side on the curved part above. Console. I usually use my transponder and it doesn't move an inch when I drive to work or whenever I drive. I didn't even remove the adhesive strips from the transponder, so it was actually stuck to the slick translucent adhesive covers. Given that the dashboard is curved, I'm amazed it sticks at all. But once I even attached a pen to it, and I had to tear it off, although it was only stuck in one place, because the line is curved, not flat. Just unbelievable! Especially since there is no glue on it. Brilliant!
