Review on Bath Royale Soft Close Quick Release Toilet Seat Manufacturers by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good product ruined by cheap "chrome " plastic caps.

This is a decent slow closing toilet seat. I bought two of these to replace the poppers in my house. The build quality is very good, but I only give these toilet seats 2 stars because the manufacturer decided to save on an important component. The toilet seat comes with two sets of plugs that fit over the seat fasteners. one set is white and the other set is "Chrome". Well both sets are made out of very cheap plastic to the touch. For a "premium" toilet seat with a corresponding "premium" cost, I expected the "chrome" caps to actually be chromed metal. I seriously doubt those chrome plated plastic caps will last very long. And when the cheap chrome plating comes off those plastic parts, it's a bad look. It's a real shame because a really well made product is ruined by using a really cheap component. I suspect the Bath Royale coffee drink retailers saved pennies apiece by not using metal, but c'mon folks, don't use cheap plastic parts for a durable item that consumers would expect to use for years would. LAM LAM LAM. The manufacturer raised my rating from 2 to 4 stars and explained why they used plastic and not metal. I still feel like a solid stainless steel or chromed metal cap would be a better option than cheap plastic, but we'll see how the plastic caps hold up over time. I received the stainless steel caps so I'll try them on one toilet and leave the plastic on the other toilet to see how they both hold up. While brushed stainless steel caps look better in my opinion, they don't feel like a premium product; They are rather thin and the lower edges appear a bit rough/sharp. But I appreciate that a manufacturer stands behind their product, you won't find that many anymore.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
