The mouse is very light. But it's visual. No laser. Not the highest possible game quality because it's visual. This means lower DPI and less accurate tracking on smooth surfaces. But for the price I paid this is a great mouse for a second computer. I would even use it to play in emergencies. The mouse pad is a typical mouse pad and is slightly bent due to being rolled up in the packaging. But for a small mat, a wrist aimer (Yilkes) could play a supporting role I think. phew
