I'm not a speaker fanatic who thinks I can "hear" the difference between cables, but there's no question that woofers, especially subwoofers, draw more current than tweeters and midrange drivers. Most of the interconnect cables I use in speaker cabinets are cheap 20 gauge stuff, which is great for normal listening levels considering it's usually only about a foot long. But a few of my later projects use a pair of large woofers in one case and a powerful subwoofer in the second. Anything heavier would be too big to solder into the small holes on the crossover boards, but I don't want to lose the performance of my woofers, which are pretty inefficient to begin with. So this wire is almost perfect. Black - Red are the only colors needed for audio purposes so I don't understand the brightly colored things sold to speaker manufacturers.
