Gives Ahimedes the best place to stand! We'd love this lever corkscrew

It works better than most corkscrews we've used. Bought a year ago to replace the metal-plastic Rialto that introduced us to the two-stage split lever mechanism to make pulling stubborn plugs easier. We saw it being used by waiters at local vineyards and bought some for ourselves and as gifts for friends. But the Rialto's plastic breaks down over time after years of use. We found HiCoup on Revain a few years ago and ordered a try. Then he came back and ordered more when our friends old Rialtos were starting to show their age. And now, after being convinced over the years that they are "bulletproof" and durable, I finally got around to writing a review after buying another one this year! All leverage corkscrews depend on the mechanical power transmission of the lever. With a single-lever corkscrew, the upward force is minimal at the start of the pull, when the cork is held tightest in the bottle. At the beginning of extraction, the lever handle is almost parallel to the screw in the cork, most of the force is expended pulling the screw sideways, not up. Two-stage leverage solves this problem by placing the lever's pivot point lower and closer to the rim of the bottle when the draw begins. The handle then comes out perpendicular to the screw, and all the force of the screw is used to pull the cork up and out of the bottle. One of the "tricks" with this corkscrew is to understand that you want the handle to be perpendicular to the direction of pull for the best leverage. That means don't screw the corkscrew all the way in at first. We like to leave about a half twist of the braid sticking out of the cork for the first puff. Then screw the plug in a little further before you start moving the peg higher and start the second pull. Two easy idiots: the cork is out!
