Can't reach 5GB; turns off randomly

I should have read the reviews before buying this product. First, it's not easy to install, you need to download drivers to make it work on Windows (and the drivers haven't been updated in years), otherwise it just shows up as a flash drive. I couldn't install the drivers from the flash drive (I think this is done to make it appear as a flash drive). Downloading drivers without a network connection is difficult, but I was able to copy them from another computer. After installation you will be warned that the driver is not signed. Once the driver is installed, it will run for a random amount of time. Others say it overheats and shuts down under load. Mine goes off if I'm not doing anything at least 2-3 times a day and the only way to get it working again is to physically turn it off. The maximum I could get is 2.75 Gb/s for download and 1.25 for upload.
