I bought this to protect my back seat from dog hair in my new car. I'm glad I did. It's very safe. I particularly like that it helps keep my dog off the armrests on the doors and has a nice pocket to store the leash. I tie him in the car and he snaps in to buckle up. The pad itself is not very soft, but the water leaves it. I like that it attaches to the seat belts in the back seat. The orange detail is nice too. Lightning is easy to use. The clips to attach to the top straps are very stiff and I use a carabiner to make it easier. One thing about it - if you're frequently getting passengers in the back seat and need to get out - it's not very quick or easy to remove if you install it properly. But it's worth it.
