Returned this drill as it is not brushless. Nowhere on this product page is the engine type discussed. Black and Decker made some of the best instruments long ago - in my past I was convinced I could buy a B&D and it would use industry standard technology. Unfortunately, after calling the company and discussing this with their product specialists, they are not interested in making brushless motors as they are the budget layman's tool brand at Stanley-Black-and-Decker Corporation. DeWalt, another brand of this company, makes brushless motors. Unfortunately, they don't understand that nobody, professional or consumer, wants to own outdated technology. Brushless motors are better and last longer. There's no reason for the average home user not to want a brushless motor, no matter how much B&D folks think so.
