I suggest removing the hardware holding the julienne and other blades when not in use to avoid losing them. Even if there is a safety guide on it, ALWAYS wear cut-out gloves. Mandolin injuries are no joke. My European fixed blade mandolin cost several times more than these and lost its sharpness almost immediately. The angled blade is far superior to the vertical European blade.
