Installed since October and connected to the DVR in my wife's car. I noticed that the camera stays on at night. The camera consumes 350 mA. The woman's car has a battery with a large capacity reserve, so it can run all night without an automatic shutdown. I just found that the auto shut off doesn't work at all. I turned off the camera's display to reduce distractions when driving at night and accidentally left the camera on. I left the car for 2 weeks while it was out of town. Came here yesterday with a dead battery. The battery was less than 10 volts. I was able to leave it running and plug in a charger. Don't waste your time with this. If you need a camera or something else in your car to keep time, spend your money and buy a Havis Chargeguard or something similar.
