Works great.: DVRs

This item was used to install a DVR. It took me 10 minutes. Quick and easy cable set. I just bought another one to install another dash cam in my other car.

This kit was exactly what I needed for the professional installation of the DVR. I would recommend it to anyone doing it themselves and to all installation professionals.

There are no instructions included, but it is easy to understand and works as expected.

You will need a crimping tool to complete the installation. The flat plug did not fit my Ford Explorer's fuse box but a standard mini plug could be used - just had to buy another fuse for the accessory which I replaced with an adaptor. Once you've grounded and crimped it works like a charm.

Decent money saved

After 2 "mistakes" I bought a DVR for my adult daughter. Car stereo installers charged $240 per install. So I watched the installation video and ordered this kit to complete the installation myself. The kit included everything you need to connect the DVR to the car's network, so the camera now turns on as soon as the car starts. 2 fuses in line with the hot side ensure that both the dash cam and the car system will not "turn off each other". A win!

That does not work. Waste of money

Installed since October and connected to the DVR in my wife's car. I noticed that the camera stays on at night. The camera consumes 350 mA. The woman's car has a battery with a large capacity reserve, so it can run all night without an automatic shutdown. I just found that the auto shut off doesn't work at all. I turned off the camera's display to reduce distractions when driving at night and accidentally left the camera on. I left the car for 2 weeks while it was out of town. Came hereโ€ฆ

Bought two of these, one stopped working after 3 months. **Update**

I bought two of these, one for each machine. I've been using dashcams for a few months and suddenly one of them stopped working. Before I jump into that, I'll go over some of the pros and cons. ADVANTAGES: - Easy installation - Quick installation (max. 10 minutes) - Saves the car battery by automatically switching off - Allows the dash cam to be switched on when the car is not running. CONS: - Micro USB cable feels flimsy - One stopped working after a few months. I checked the voltage goingโ€ฆ

Works well in car videos

If you're looking to install a dash cam and need an easy and permanent solution, then this is for you. I had no problems with this kit. The instructions were a little murky, but you have to understand what you're doing with it. The purpose of this device is to borrow power from another fuse in your vehicle to power your device. Highly recommend buying this handy item

I bought a DVR on a better day and bought this one too. Without that, I would have to turn on the camera every time I got in the car. At the same time, I just start the car and my camera turns on immediately. Also, I don't have another cable going from the outlet to different places in the car. With phone chargers, iPad chargers, GPS power cords and the like, cod seems to be everywhere these days. This lamp helped me get rid of at least one. It comes with 3 different sized fuse adapters to fitโ€ฆ
