Review on πŸ”₯ Remington 8510 Anti-Frizz Therapy Hair Straightener, 1" Ceramic Flat Iron with Digital Controls, in White by Danielle Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ok but not great!

I received a Remington iron in the mail today! I will try to give this product a fair rating as I have only used it once. So first a little about me: I have long, damaged, wavy, mane-like, thin hair. I've found that my hair often gets messy or static when I straighten it. It doesn't happen to me every time, but sometimes it happens for some reason. I have owned several different straighteners in the past including: β€’ Chi Ceramic Iron β€’ Conair Ultra Slim Ceramic Hair Straightener β€’ Remington Wet 2 Straight β€’ Revlon RV059C β€’ Hai Ceramic Convertible Iron (my last one I liked) (pics attached) ). for reference) The Remington Anti-Frizz Therapy Iron comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee and a four-year limited warranty. It came in a manufacturer's box with a discount hair remover and an instruction manual. The actual straightener is 10 inches long and the plates are only about 4 inches long. To turn it on, press and hold the power button for a second or two. You can adjust the heating parameters by pressing the + or - buttons. I used my phone's stopwatch to calculate how long it would take for the iron to heat to 340 degrees. It took about 48 seconds to heat up (I've attached a photo of the timer so you can see). There's a turbo mode if you need to reach maximum temperature quickly. There is also a lock mode that prevents accidental temperature changes while styling your hair. There's also a hinged closure if you want to keep the iron closed when not in use. The minimum heating temperature is 300 degrees. The maximum temperature is 450 degrees. For safety reasons, there is also an automatic switch-off for one hour. it was very convenient to use. The rotating cable moves very easily and silently. The panels fit together perfectly (picture included) and it's not very heavy. After a few minutes, I increased the temperature to 370 degrees, and it only took a few seconds. As the iron heated up, I felt what I thought was the smell of air conditioning on the plates. While straightening my hair, the plates actually pulled on my hair a bit (I was concerned about that) and my hair still got static and frizzy. All I had to do to fix it was wrap my fingers around my hair (like an iron) and run my hand down. Those two issues aside, I really like this iron. I've curled the ends of my hair lighter than my last straightener and I've noticed my hair looks a lot healthier than before (before and after photos attached). My hair did not feel greasy or weighed down after using this product. Haven't tried curling my hair with this product yet but I think it will be very easy! I curled the ends of my hair in one motion. This product is pretty good for its price but there are some downsides. If you're looking for a good iron and want to spend a little more, I would go with the more expensive option. Having owned several cheap and expensive irons I can honestly say that in the end you get what you pay for. .
