Updated 29 July 2016 I had to downgrade from excellent to poor because it had been less than 2 years since the water stopped flowing from the tub to the shower. I bought 2 of these for 2 bathrooms but 1 already needs to be replaced. I'll look around for another brand. I used this spout to replace one where the diverter wasn't "diverting" properly, allowing some water to flow into the shower and some water into the tub. Okay, just call me naive, but I had no idea the tub spout switch was supposed to automatically reset when you turn off the shower, allowing water to flow through the spout again. Put it down to always living in old houses with old appliances. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was closed when I turned off the water! I used to physically push the handle of the switch down when I was done showering so it would flow back through the spout! This wasn't my first attempt at replacing a bathtub spout, but my first attempt was with the wrong type. This is threaded on the front of the spout and is easy to screw in. I bought it on Chrome so I don't have color issues like the other poster. Will buy another one for my second bathroom.
