Fixing a useful issue for electric assist fan kits

Fan setting 1-2 stopped working on my 1997 Honda Civic dx sedan. This solution worked. Easy to replace. About 2 out of 10 in terms of difficulty. The part is behind the glove compartment. Using the new part as a guide, locate the old part. It's easy, find the huge black plastic block/housing of the heater and air conditioner, it's pretty obvious. You're hopeless if you don't see it. Locate the tab on the attachment. Find the only electrical connection on the edge. Disconnect the electrical plug. Use a short-handled Phillips (+) screwdriver to remove the screws on each side. Then it's out. Reverse order to get it back. Note: 1) Before starting such a project, check the fuses. The problem could simply be a blown fuse. You don't want to spend money on unnecessary purchases. If not, move on to the next. 2) Visually check fan motor resistor when pulled out. The one I pulled from my car had visible burn marks and a broken coil. Much luck.
