I went shopping and it was actually the best price. Can someone at InSinkErator explain why this is?

As you can imagine there are no working parts for this item. This is a simple metal flange needed to attach the InSinkErator to a thick sink base (e.g. farm sink). The $50 top up is insane and clearly intended to scam customers. I went shopping and it was actually the best price. Can someone at InSinkErator explain why it costs so much?
