Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Wireless Network Brother QL710W Label Printer: High-Speed Solution for Efficient Labeling by Christopher Bates

Revainrating 3 out of 5

If you intend to print over a wireless network, please read this.

The printer works. Hooray. I was hoping to use it in my shed (away from my computer and internet service) with my iPhone to create personalized product packaging labels for businesses. Well you can't. The app is terrible. You CANNOT create a custom shortcut on your computer and send it to an app on your phone or iPad. If you're trying to create your own shortcut through the app, it's nearly impossible. All the templates in the app are extremely limited and some have silly things like cupcakes or black bars that you can't remove. If they just had a blank template with an option to add more than one text box, I'd probably be happy. But they don't even have that. Ideally one could use the P-touch Editor software on my computer to create templates and then send them to a custom label printing application. nope I called Brother and they did nothing but hold me back for 20 minutes to later explain what I already understood: you can't do this with an app. If you want to use the app to print from your phone or iPad, download and try the app first. Whether you want to use your own logo, use more than one text box, use more than one font size, or get creative. I don't think you'll find anything there. You have more control over the P-touch Editor on a computer, although it's clunky and annoying, it works. However, you cannot use labels other than those created in the app and you cannot import anything into the app. You need Wi-Fi to print from your phone and you need to be on the same network to set up the printer. First. I turned my phone into a hotspot and connected my computer to it when I first set up the printer, and I can print to the printer from my phone when my hotspot is on.

Pros
  • Create cost-effective paper labels for packages, envelopes, file folders, disks, banners and more
Cons
  • Large and bulky
