Great after firmware update

This device worked for me on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 without installing drivers. It is defined as a USB audio device, so those waiting for the Bluetooth icon to appear will be surprised. But that's why it says "audio only". It works with both standard SBC Bluetooth headsets and aptX LL. The reason I'm deducting 1 star is for two reasons. First, it doesn't support aptX HD, which is odd as the DG60 does. Second, the stock firmware is buggy and doesn't work with aptX LL, even with Aventree's own Aria Pro headset. It will crackle and make noise. Switching to a different, lower-quality codec will work, but you can then buy a cheaper USB dongle. The solution is to install firmware v1.18 which specifically fixes this problem. That's great, but the reason they don't come with it by default is due to two additional issues. a) You need version 1.18, not a "higher" version. To my surprise, the support explained that v1.22 is not an add-on/update, but a firmware to solve various problems. Thus version 1.22 does not contain the aptX LL fix from version 1.18. Therefore they cannot be shipped with version 1.18 by default because you lose some fixes from other versions. b) Worse, the firmware update tool contains a special driver that no longer works in the latest versions of Windows 10 *unless you disable a security feature called "Memory Integrity" which can be found in Settings under "Kernel Isolation" can be found. . I suspect a lot of people just won't be able to update the firmware as they won't understand it. After the update, DG80 works fine with aptX LL. Also, it's a dual receiver, so I can connect to my iPhone and PC at the same time and seemingly switch.
