I used the inexpensive copper cousin of these pipe hangers to hold the long balcony curtain rod. The wind blew it twice last week leaving me looking for something very similar but stronger. And here they are, just what I wanted. Not only are they stronger in every way, the thumbscrews and rubber compression rings are great added features. Two notes: The base plate screw holes require more quality control as they are not always round or in the same place from hole to hole or from plate to plate. In addition, the panels themselves are slightly deformed and not flat everywhere.
