Roku has stopped playing movies from Personal Media due to an HDCP bug. The old TV was from 2007, wasn't a Smart TV and couldn't be "authentic" (via HDMI) anymore due to the update Roku received. The non-smart TV didn't have any updates to fix the problem because it was no longer sorted. After some research, it was determined that such a product would solve the problem. Well I have used and trusted Monoprice products before and they had good reviews. It was a great purchase as it solved the problem with no further issues. It has been used for several months with no problems. The other solution was of course replacing the TV and to be honest it works, no need to replace it. I recommend this product if you have the same problem.
