Great compact binoculars at an exceptional price

Nikon says these binoculars put out half the light of the Nikon Monarch 7 80x42 binoculars, but if that loss is acceptable you get a very light 15oz binocular. Binoculars with a very wide field of view of 435 feet at 1000 yards, which is actually more than the FOV of 8x42 binoculars. They come with the front element covers attached, which I like as they don't get lost. Another potential downside to these Monarch 7 binoculars is that the eye relief is only 15.1mm compared to 17.1mm on the Monarch 7 8x42 or 16mm. up to 17mm exit pupil provided by other compact binoculars from Zeiss, Opticron and others. I don't like using binoculars with glasses, so 15mm eye relief in them isn't a problem, although it may well be a problem for others. This seller is selling them for $90 less than the current price at B&H and other places I've looked. At $285, this is an exceptionally good buy. I prefer the Nikon Monarch 7 8x42 binoculars, but sometimes the more compact size of an 8x30 binocular that fits in a jacket pocket is a definite advantage. For trips abroad I use the Monarch 8x30 binoculars.
