There is a lot to like about this flat iron. The travel case and short length make it easy to use it at home and away. My main complaint is that it takes a lot of effort to grip tight enough to do loose curls. That may simply be because of the floating plates. This is my first flat iron with floating plates. Also, with gripping it tight enough, it is so easy to burn yourself because there is not a good place for your hands. But there is a heat glove included to help with that. One other issue is that the heat increases in 15-20 degree intervals so I have to choose between a slightly too low temp or a slightly too high temp, but cannot set it exactly where I want it. Overall, I like this flat iron. It has really good heat range and does an excellent job of both straightening and curling my hair. I am keeping this flat iron. It is still excellent for the cost. But mine stopped turning on when plugged in after 3 weeks. Because it was in the first 30 days, Best Buy replaced it as a defect. So I don't know how the company would respond if this happens again at a later time. But I did choose to keep it rather than return it. It's good enough to make it worth giving it another chance.
