This umbrella was okay. Not great, not terrible. We used it for a family vacation and by the end of the week, the anchor that is on the bottom of the umbrella snapped off. This was likely caused by a constant wind that frequently pushed the umbrella over and weakened the plastic bolt holding the anchor to the central umbrella shaft, but this would never have happened if the anchor wasn't made of plastic. If you don't plan to use the umbrella frequently or know you'll be in a quiet spot with nothing more than a quiet breeze, this should be fine (and it does travel well). But I don't think it will stand up well to any strong bursts of wind or more regular use on a sandy beach.
