Bought for my two medium sized male rats. They got used to it immediately and love hiding food and sleep in it. They love their space capsule and hammocks, but lately I've wanted something durable and easy to maintain for the floor. One of them injured God knows what his hind leg and I had to lock her to a single story fence while he recovered. The plastic is strong, attractive in color, has ventilation holes. It snaps in and out for very easy cleaning. I use dish soap, hot water and vinegar. My rats don't chew much despite their heritage so your mileage may vary in terms of durability.
