This is the third lightbulb I've tried replacing with halogen bulbs in our hood. I think I need to go back to halogen bulbs which I hate because they get so hot. The hood has 2 positions, low and high. This bulb was marked as dimmable so I figured it would work in this application. nope The lamp works well at low settings but flickers horribly at high settings. It's crazy. They can work with a normal dimmer switch, but not with a dimmer switch. i give them back
