Review on Monroe 58643 Adjust Shock Absorber by Jim Escobedo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy install on 2005 F150. NOT pre-compressed so read the note below. Nice driving improvement.

Just installed them on my 2005 F150 and the drivability has improved. Can't wait to see how they handle towing our boat. Shock absorbers are supplied in pairs (two per pack). NOTE. These shocks are NOT supplied pre-compressed. If you watch a lot of videos on Youtube, it is often recommended to install pre-compression shock absorbers, which allows you to install shock absorbers without lifting the truck. Since they don't compress, you'll need to raise the rear end and put stands under the frame to keep the rear wheels off the ground. After installing the shocks on the top end, you can place a jack under the rear differential and raise or lower the suspension just enough for the shocks to fit perfectly. At this point, install the bottom screws and finger tighten. Then lower the truck so the wheels can support its weight and tighten the nuts to specification. If you do it this way, it's a 30-60 minute job.
